I'm American and I know British comedy quite well. I grew up on and love shows like Blackaddar, Monty Python (the show, not the movies), Fawlty Towers, Red Dwarf, Coupling (the original), Keeping up Appearances, The Vicor of Dibbly (sorry if i spelled it wrong), Are You Being Served, and a many others. They're amazing shows and it's a shame that more Americans aren't familiar with them. It just perpetuates the stereotype that we don't care about any country other than our own.
