It really isn't that big of a deal.
If you're not taught to be afraid of something, usually, you're not going to be afraid of it. I'm a girl,young female (in my 20's), whatever, and spiders, snakes, lizards and insects don't scare me at all. To be honest, I've held a spider like that one at a zoo once.
But, I watched a lot of horror movies when I was little, and I'm afraid of clowns!
